About Colescott
Colescott Rubin literally performs in his sleep. He has the bizarre ability to create art while sleeping, including writing songs, lyrics, jokes, even vividly dreaming his performances before they’ve happened.
During his waking hours however…
Colescott Rubin is an award winning bassist, tubist, trombonist, vocalist, vaudevillian circus entertainer, dancer, songwriter, and educator. He has performed around the world, including Argentina, Spain, Iceland, Mexico, & Russia, and with Grammy-winning artists Esperanza Spalding, Patrice Rushen, Catherine Russell, and John Legend, among others. He’s currently on staff at Berklee College of Music, where he teaches master classes and graduated summa cum laude on a Presidential Scholarship. His band “Colescott & His Red Hots”, named after his grandfather’s 1940s swing band, takes musical inspiration from his great-grandfather Warrington Colescott Sr., a New Orleans jazz violinist who played with Louis Armstrong over 100 years ago. He also tours with his musical family variety act, The Rubin Brothers, who just released their first record on BandCamp. He co-directs the eight piece Rubin Bros Brass Band for the major league rugby team of New England, just appeared on American Idol February 2024, and made his circus debut in NYC as a musical unicycling clown.
In 2024, he is releasing his first FOUR records, crowdfunded by a Kickstarter Campaign launching April 2024, and going into the voice acting and commercial industry, as advised to him by Lionel Richie.
